The Data Center in Utah

“Intelligence Community Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative Data Center” (ICCNCIDC). Now that’s an acronym. This title has been given to the Utah Data Center located at Camp Williams, Utah.

This center, established in 2014 boasts a data storage capacity of “exabytes”, an informational unit of quantity 1018 (1 followed by 18 zeros). This is reportedly enough information to constitute in binary every single word spoken by every human being that has ever lived.  And that’s just one data center.

So just what are these absolutely massive databanks being used for? Supposedly these databanks are constructed with the intent to achieve key objectives of the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative (CNCI). Others conjecture more nefarious purposes. To be continued…
