So get this. While the general public remains fixated on the “debates” between presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, the world is marching closer to the outbreak of WW3 as a result of U.S. policy regarding Syria and escalating tensions with Russia.
Back in September General Joseph Dunford while present for the Armed Forces Committee addressed Senator Lindsay Graham regarding the current U.S. efforts to oust Assad from Syria. This military objective was discussed in tandem with the question of whether Russia was responsible for a bombing of a UN convoy, an aggressive action which seems to lay justification to implementing war plans against Russia. These plans however were not, so far as the meeting evinced, put into military practice.
However, in a later congressional session, General Dunford was pressed to express his sentiments regarding the seizure of Syrian air-space to facilitate the accomplishment of U.S. objectives. In responding to congress he stated, “Right now, senator, for us to control all of the airspace in Syria would require us to go to war against Syria and Russia. That’s a pretty fundamental decision that certainly I’m not going to make.”
